FACTORS CONSIDERED IN THE PRODUCTION OF MICRO-ALGAE FUEL

FACTORS CONSIDERED IN THE PRODUCTION OF MICROALGAE FUEL
In evaluating the factors involved in the production of microalgae biofuel after
sourcing the biomass and techniques needed, there is a need to check the following important factors below;
1. The energy and carbon balance of microalgae must be favorable for fuel production.
2.     Availability of light (solar radiation) and a favorable temperature.
3.     Availability of reliable water source.
4.     Suitable land and location for algae production.
5.     The availability of essential nutrient and the use of fertilizer.
6.     Algae require a source of carbon dioxide (CO2) for Co2 fixation.
7.     Electricity consumption during cultivation of microalgae
8.     Use of genetically modified microalgae for high biomass productions.
9.     Availability of fund for productions.

All these factors are needed for the microalgae cultivation as large scale of microalgae production for needed biofuel depends on the impact and constraints of the listed factors.
